Thank you for your interest in this exciting event, where you’ll get a first-hand taste of the fun, fitness, and friendships that come with being an AFL umpire.

This day is designed especially for women and girls, but absolutely everyone is welcome to register and attend. Whether you’re a player, a fan, or someone simply curious about umpiring, this event is open to anyone high school age and up.

AFL umpiring is a fantastic way to stay involved in the game you love. You’ll stay fit, make great friends, have loads of fun, and even earn tax-free money along the way. If you’re already a player, umpiring will also help you develop a deeper understanding of the game, giving you an edge on the field.

At the Come and Try Day, you’ll have the unique opportunity to learn from experienced community, state, and national-level umpires. You’ll get to try your hand at all three umpiring roles — field umpire, boundary umpire, and goal umpire — so you can discover which suits you best.

Lunch is provided, and everyone who attends will receive a special welcome pack.

No experience? No worries! Whether you’ve played footy your whole life or you’ve never set foot on a field before, there’s a place for you in umpiring — and we can’t wait to introduce you to it.
